Christmas Song And Fingerplay Book
Christmas will be here before we know it and my gift to you is a free song and fingerplay book! Woohoo!!! 16 pages of Christmas songs and fingerplays perfect for toddlers, preschoolers and ESL students.
Compiling these song books for you take A LOT of time so I'd really appreciate a comment if you download. Please note it is copyrighted to Delicious Ambiguity and is for personal use only.
You can get your own free copy HERE.
UPDATE: I realized that I had given you a rough copy of the book (sorry-one shouldn't blog in the middle of the night with insomnia) so I've now changed the link to the good copy which is hopefully free of errors and double copies of songs. I've also changed to 4 shared as Scribd was getting annoying asking for Facebook information and you guys didn't want to give it to them :)
If you missed the other songbooks on my site I've got one for every holiday! You can find them HERE.Enjoy singing with the kids and being serenaded this holiday season. Merry Christmas!

Easter Song & Fingerplay Book
Easter is approaching quickly & I am so excited to share my latest
song booklet with you:
I've got tons of teaching resources from my kindergarten teaching days but unfortunately I'm not sure where they all originated from. Some are from internet resources, others are from teaching books/ resources & some are from people who have taught them to me along the way. Forgive me for not being able to give credit where credit is due.
I'd really appreciate it if you would leave a comment should you download my booklet & become a follower of my blog if you haven't already.
I'm looking for people to feature on my blog who have made a feltboard scene, finger puppets or anything else to coordinate with this booklet (and any of my other booklets). Please send me an email with photos explaining what you have created (you can reach me via the contact button underneath my header) & I will contact you about being featured.

St Patricks Day Songs & Fingerplays
Well I'm a little late in finishing compiling all the songs & fingerplays for St Patricks day that I had on my other computer. Please forgive me for that. My son hasn't been sleeping well & we've been dealing with having a mouse (mice?!) in the house. Hopefully, this booklet comes to you with enough time to put it to good use over the next week & for years to come!
The songs & fingerplays in this book are recommended for toddlers & preschoolers but can also be used for English as a Second Language learners. Please note that the songs & fingerplays in this book have been compiled from various people, books, teaching aids & internet resources over the past decade & unfortunately their original origins are not known. It is copyrighted to Delicious Ambiguity Blog & is for personal use only.
I'd appreciate it if you would leave a comment should you download it & become a Follower of my blog if you haven't already. If you write about it on your blog please link back to Delicious Ambiguity Blog.
There are some great songs & fingerplays in this book that are recommended for felt board use. If you do come up with a felt board scene I'd love to see it & if you have a favorite St Patricks day song or fingerplay I haven't mentioned I'd love to hear about it as well. I love comments!

Chinese New Year Activities to do with your toddler/ preschooler
While working in Asia for 3 years I was able to celebrate Chinese New year with my students in Korea and Thailand. I even rang in the new year in Hanoi, Vietnam a few years ago. I've been spending so much time thinking about Valentines day crafts that I forgot that the 2 holidays coincide. Last week K and I spent a lot of time on Valentines crafts & activities but this week we will work on Chinese New Year. I am excited about it and would like to give you a few ideas to do the same:
Activities to do with your toddler/ preschooler:
Ribbon Dancing
-Give your child a long piece of ribbon, put on some music and practice dancing
-You'll probably have to show them how to move the ribbon up & down & around
Red clothing game
-select red clothing to wear
-play an "Eye spy" game in search of red objects
-Go for a "red walk"
New Years Animals
-Print out the 12 animals of the chinese zodiak from DLTK
-Cut them out and put them all in a container
-Let your child pick an animal from the container and practice making the animal sounds and saying their names
-Why not hide the animals around your house and go on an animal hunt as well
Matching Memory Game
-Print out 2 copies of the animals of the chinese Zodiak from DLTK
-Place them right side down
-Take turns trying to make a pair
-Why not hide the animals around your house and go on an animal hunt as well
Matching Memory Game
-Print out 2 copies of the animals of the chinese Zodiak from DLTK
-Place them right side down
-Take turns trying to make a pair
Lucky Money Game
-Have your child paint 5 envelopes red
-Label the envelopes 1-5
-Cut out 15 yellow circles for coins
-Take turns filling the numbered envelopes with the appropriate number of coins
Songs to sing with your toddler
Gung Hay Fat Choy
(Tune: “Happy Birthday”)
Happy Gung Hay Fat Choy.
Happy Gung Hay Fat Choy
Happy New Year, everyone!
Happy Gung Hay Fat Choy.
-Jean Warren
Lantern Parade
(Tune: “When Johnny Come Marching Home Again”)
The children are marching into town, hooray! hooray!
They all have lanterns as they come our way.
Some are big with lots of light.
Some are small but just as bright.
Oh, we’re oh so glad the children could come today.
The children are marching into town, hooray! hooray!
To celebrate the New Year and it’s brighter days.
Spring has come, with all that’s new.
The old year’s gone and bad luck, too.
Oh, we’re oh so glad the children could come today.
-Jean Warren
Dragon, Dragon
(Tune: “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”)
Dragon, dragon, dance around.
Dragon, dragon, touch the ground.
Dragon, dragon, shake your head.
Dragon, dragon, tongue so red.
Dragon, dragon, stamp your feet.
Dragon, dragon, coming down the street!
-Heather McPhail
Hope this gives you a few ideas to get started. Make sure to check back here over the next few days for crafts and recipes for Chinese New Year as well.

Valentine songs and fingerplays for your toddler/ preschooler
I spent the better part of the last decade working in daycares and teaching nursery school, kindergarten and early elementary school. Recently I compiled some great Valentines day songs and fingerplays that I have collected from different books, people and internet sites throughout the years and made a song book. My song book also includes pictures your child can color and can be found by clicking on the link:

My son K is only a year old but he quite likes the H-E-A-R-T song. Of course he just claps along out of rhythm but we have a blast singing none the less. Kids are never too young to sing with, and of course, us mommies are never too old. The only bad part is when you get kid songs stuck in your head and catch yourself singing in the shower! I really look forward to letting K "color" the pictures over the next few weeks and making some finger puppets to use along with the fingerplays (blog to come on that later).
I hope you enjoy my latest creation!
