* * * * * * * *I first saw this great Ivory Soap Experiment over at Housing a Forest [Be sure to check out that post because it includes a video of the entire experiment]. Henry may be in love with the microwave so this was sure to get his attention. Here goes!1. Put a bar of Ivory Soap in the microwave.[I'm not sure if other kinds work or not]2. 2 minutes on High Power3. Watch.... Watch... Watch...4. And about 20 seconds in, it'll start growing!but it was still nifty to see.5. We then decided to stick the soap explosion under water. The soap becomes very light and airy, so the water broke through and made holes right away.[at one point, we stuck it back in the microwave to see what would happen now that its wet...... nothing.]Henry may have enjoyed the water part more than the microwave part! He may have a little fascination with water, too. Or the kitchen sink!I am Jamie from Hands On : As We Grow. I am the wife and mom to Henry and George. I'm just learning about parenting as I go. I'm not a teacher or educated in any way to be one. Hands On : As We Grow focuses on me trying to be more hands on with my children. This currently involves my 3 year old son, Henry. We do activities and crafts daily and I try to introduce 4 new activities to Henry each week. I then recap to my readers in my activities and crafts posts! Be sure to pop over and introduce yourself - I'd love to meet you! Be sure to check out these posts, too:
