Over the holidays we took a road trip down the Grand Pacific Drive which was absolutely amazing. There was lots of places to stop along the way but of course I wasn't going anywhere without a busy bag for my little man. One of the things I put in our busy bag was a road trip book. If you'd like to make a reusable road trip book of your own, here are some great free resources to get you started. Just print, laminate, and pop them into a binder and you've got a great book to keep your child busy when you are traveling:
Dora Car Bingo from Nick Jr
Travel Games from Education
Auto Bingo from Kaboose
Magical Picture Travel Game from Family Fun
Train, Road and Plane Printable Games from Lil' Sugar
Printable Toddler Car Games from Wondertime

Travel Find The Difference Game from Family Fun
Paper Games from About.com
Yo Gabba Gabba Car Bingo from Nick Jr
Diego Car Bingo from Nick Jr
Car Bucks & Travel Tokens from Prepared Not Scared
Sign Bingo from 2 Teaching Mommies
Scavenger Hunt from Mom's Minivan
Alphabet Cookie Match from Teaching Tiny Tots
Printable Travel Games from Free Puzzles
Travel Coloring Games from Crayola
Look & Find Driving Game from Ziggity Zoom
Aren't these great? We had so much fun playing with these games on our trip and K picked up a lot of new vocabulary. Now in the car he spends most of the time telling us everything he sees and mommy and daddy, albeit proud, can't stop giggling and wondering if he'll ever be quiet:)

Wow So many things to explore. Thanks for sharing. I think I will have to adapt them a little bit since I'm Polish but still those sites provide tons of inspiration. Ewa
ReplyDeleteThese are great! We will most definitely be using these on our next road trip! I posted a link to this page on my blog post about road trips: http://adventuringsmiths.blogspot.com/2011/01/road-tripping-with-kids.html
ReplyDeleteLoads of ideas! Had to take lots of time to collect! :)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't have stumbled upon this at a more perfect time. We leave in the morning for a road trip to Michigan. It will probably take us 6 hours in the middle of the day. Printing these out and packing a bag for my almost 2 year old.
ReplyDeleteI'm getting ready for a 5 hr then 5 hr then 6 hour drive! Ahhhhhh!
ReplyDeleteI am glad I found this. Thank you for your post on kids travel games. I am going to post this on my blog. Great Idea.
