Great Craft Projects For Mom from Oopsey Daisy

Hi all!!

True confessions:  This is my first time ever guest blogging!  I am super excited to participate in this fun Yummy Mummy Week!!  Thanks for hosting me, Jenn!  Jenn is actually the very first person to discover my blog and feature my ideas.  So thanks a million!

I am Alison, the crazy lady behind Oopsey Daisy.  And this is MY yummy family:
I am lucky to be married to a wonderful man who lets me go craft-crazy!  And every once in a while he even pretends to like my projects!  And isn't he just the yummiest:
Yeah, I'm a sucker for those blue eyes.  He inspires a lot of creativity!  And he keeps me insanely busy, so naptime and bedtime are craft time at my house.

Once upon a time, I was a first grade teacher.  Now I am a stay-at-home Mom, looking for spicy ideas in the world of crafting, sewing, baking/cooking, organizing, and the beautiful disaster of motherhood. We live in a tiny 3rd floor apartment, so I craft in any corner I can--usually on the kitchen counters or spread out all over the floor.  I make lots of messes, pull out lots of stitches, and "Oopsey Daisy" is the name of my game!

Here is a snippet of what you might find in my crazy Oopsey Daisy world:

Hands-on visual aids and games for kids:

Fun sewing projects

Holiday Crafts

Yummy and creative recipes

Family Unity Game with download.

My latest banners (I am currently having a love affair with banners!)

Vinyl projects

Making just about anything for my Little Man

Did you enjoy your own personal tour?  Today, I would also like to give you a sneak peek into my motherload project of the year:  Making a quietbook.  I am planning on making a 24-page book.  I must be nuts!  So here is a sneak peek of what I have done so far:
Keep in mind I haven't sewn the pages together yet!

Gumball machine.   Gumballs matched to appropriate colors using velcro.
Build Your Own Burger.  Everything but the buns can be re-arranged using velcro.  Extra pieces are stored in the "McDonald's" pocket.
Button the spots on the ladybug.
Shape balloons.   Shapes matched using snaps.
Scoop up the ice cream cone!!  Extra scoops stored in ice cream truck.
Stop light. All lights are removable with velcro.
Car page.  Car stored in garage and attached with string.
Clock with movable hands.  (My son is extra excited for this.  He loves clocks!)
Baseball page.  Removable bat and ball.  Children can put hand inside mitt.

Stay tuned for more progress on my quiet book... I have big plans for creating Chick-a Chick-a Boom Boom pages for learning the ABC's PLUS a Mr. Potato Head with removable velcro parts.  I will be thrilled to have this done for Little Man.
Right now I have a fabulous give-away going on, so come and check it out!   I also have all kind of free printables I share on Fridays {"Free Download Friday."}. Come say hello!

That was a blast, Jenn!!  Thanks so much for letting me skip over to your blog for a day!  I hope you will come on by and join me for more Oopsey Daisy fun!
