Chicken Parmesan With Marinara Sauce

A few weeks ago I had a craving for Chicken Parmesan so I whipped some up. It only took about 30 minutes & it was divine. I've made it every Friday for the last month & my family & I are still loving it. Here's me recipe:

Chicken Parmesan with Marinara Sauce

For the Sauce:
-1 jar of spaghetti sauce
-1/4 cup onion
-2 garlic cloves, crushed
-2 Tablespoons of Olive oil
-1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (can substitute with thyme & oregano)
-1 tsp sugar

For the Chicken:
-4 chicken breasts cut into 2 or 3 pieces each
-1 egg
-2 tbsp fresh parmesan cheese
-Krummies (whole wheat bread crumbs)
-1-2 tsp of Italian seasoning
-a splash of milk

-Heat oil in a frying pan.
-Add onion & garlic & saute for a minute.
-Add the jar of spaghetti sauce & the other sauce ingredients.
-Simmer for 5 minutes.

-Crack an egg in a bowl & beat it well. Add a splash of milk to dilute it a bit.
-Fill a second bowl with breadcrumbs. Add parmesan cheese & Italian seasoning. Mix.
-Dip the chicken into the egg & then cover with the breadcrumb mixture.
-Put the chicken onto a glass casserole dish that has been sprayed with cooking spray.
-Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes.
-Turn chicken over & bake for another 20 minutes (or until chicken is cooked through)
-Add hot spaghetti sauce & top with mozzarella cheese. You can also top with some parsley. Bake until the cheese is melted.

-Serve over spaghetti.

I really love this recipe & I know you will too. Bon appetite!
